iPhone 7 Plus Wi-Fi Network Not Found
Problem: Shortly after I completed the new update on my phone the Wi-Fi network that I have been using for years at my house all of a sudden just stopped working and also wasn’t showing up as a network on the list of network options on to connect to. My WiFi network just disappeared but my cell data & other WiFi networks seem to be available & working besides mine. The WiFi network I’d been using, on the other hand, just is not connecting or finding any connection anymore and I don’t know how to get my old WiFi network back & connecting?
Solution: Do you have another device in your house which is able to go online? Try to check if this other device can detect your Wi-Fi network . If the network can’t be found then this could be caused by a router issue. You should try restarting the router. You should also make sure that the network is not set to hidden.
In case the problem is not caused by a router issue and since this problem occurred right after a software update then I recommend that you restore your phone using iTunes and set it up as a new device. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the restore process.
iPhone 7 Plus Randomly Disconnects From Wi-Fi Network
Problem: Since the last upgrade, my IPhone 7 Plus has not been connecting to my wi-fi router as well as it used to. It will randomly connect from anywhere in my house throughout the day but then will stop connecting to wifi and need to be within 15 feet of my wi-fi router in order to connect to it. It also will not automatically connect, I have to physically go into my settings and search for wi-fi signals and find mine and tap on it to connect. I have tried all the fixes you have listed here and even went as far as clearing my phone entirely and redownloading everything with Apple’s assistance only to have it continue. Has anyone else complained of this and is there a fix other than taking it in to an Apple repair center to have it looked at/fixed?
Solution: The first thing you need to so is to make sure that the problem is not caused by a router issue by checking if other devices are also experiencing the same problem.
In case the router is not causing the problem then follow the troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Restart your phone and the router.
- Try to reset the phone network settings. To do this go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. This will reset Wi-Fi networks and passwords, cellular settings, and VPN and APN settings that you have used before.
- Backup then restore your phone.
