Problem 1: iPhone 7 can’t send MMS via Messenger app
All of a sudden, and I mean that, I cannot send my photos over messenger. I have an iPhone 7. When I try to send a photo, I get “can’t send message. Something went wrong, please try again .” — Jasafx1589
Solution: Hi Jasafx1589. Have you tried rebooting your phone? If you haven’t, we suggest that you do it as the first troubleshooting step. Phones usually run for weeks or months on end and sometimes the operating system can become sluggish. That can lead to a host of issues including all sorts of erratic app behaviors. Restarting the device refreshes the system and allows everything to go back to their normal operation.
Secondly, make sure that you restart the problematic app. Alternatively, you can force close it by following these steps:
- Double-click the Home button to see your most recently used apps.
- Swipe right or left to find the app that you want to close.
- Swipe up on the app’s preview to close the app.
- See if the app will now allow you to send photos.
Thirdly, you want to make sure that your phone runs the latest operating system version. Your phone is set to inform you automatically if there’s an available update that you can download. However, if changed this default behavior, you should manually check yourself if there’s a pending update.
Alternatively, you can also update via iTunes. If you haven’t tried updating via iTunes, follow these steps:
- Make sure that you have the latest version of iTunes on your Mac or PC.
- Plug in your iPhone 7 to your computer via cable.
- Open iTunes and select your device.
- Click Summary, then click Check for Update.
- Click Download and Update.
- If the system prompts you for a passcode enter it.
Sometimes bugs can occur if you happen to have an incompatible or outdated app. Make sure that you update your apps by doing the following:
- Open the App Store and tap Updates.
- If updates are available, tap Update All.
- If asked, enter your Apple ID password.
Another reason why you may be unable to send photos can be due to a bug in the said app. If you’ve already done all the steps above without any positive result, try using another app to do the job. Install a similar app from the App Store and see if that works.
All this time we assume that there’s no subscription-specific issue that prevents your phone from sending MMS but if the second app won’t also allow you to send, you should contact your carrier to see if there’s anything that they can do to help. Perhaps there’s an on-going network issue that impacts their MMS service, or maybe there’s an issue with your account.
Problem 2: iPhone 7 can’t update apps
Dear Sir. I have bought an iPhone 7 which is just 2 weeks old. I have been trying to download and update the apps but it keeps on saying “waiting.” I tried from 3G cellular data and its working. Why is it not working with wifi. — Bpc393
Solution: Hi Bpc393. If you can’t update your apps and you know that your internet connection via wifi is working, there are some of the things that you should try:
Install the latest iOS update. This may seem simple but some users encountered problems updating their apps because of outdated iOS version. Some newer apps require that you also have the latest iOS version so always keep it a point to keep your operating system updated.
Apple ID: Sign out and sign back in. Apps are linked to a particular Apple ID that downloaded them. If you happen to have another Apple ID, it’s possible that you may be using it while trying to update apps. Make sure that you use the right one. To check if the current Apple ID is associated with the apps that won’t update, try the following:
- Open the App Store app.
- Tap Updates.
- Tap Purchased.
If you can’t see the app you’re trying to update, it’s most probably associated with another Apple ID.
Check if Restrictions prevent app installation. If you are using a corporate phone, or someone else is managing your device (like your parents), your iPhone may be set to block app installations. To check, do the following:
- Open Settings app.
- Tap General.
- Tap Restrictions.
- If prompted, enter your passcode
- Check the Installing Apps menu and see if you can enable Installing apps feature. If you can’t, talk to your IT team or to the administrator of your device.
Ensure that system time and date are correct. When your iPhone talks to Apple servers to download an update, it also needs to have the correct date and time so the right update version can be provided. If you are fond of changing the date and time in your device in order to “cheat” in a game, that can be reason enough to prevent your phone from downloading the latest updates.
Remove and re-install apps. If you’re trying to update third party apps, you want to check if uninstalling it first will do the trick. Once you’ve deleted the app, head back to the App Store and try to install a new version.
Delete App Store cache. Like your iPhone, apps, App Store included, can also benefit if you clear their memory or cache from time to time. Sometimes, bugs can corrupt an App Store’s cache, which can result to update issues. To fix the problem, simply delete the current cache so a new one can be created over time. Here’s how:
- Open the App Store app.
- Tap any of the icons at the bottom of the app 10 times.
- When you do this, the app appears to restart and takes you to the first tab. This signals that your cache is clear.
Update apps via iTunes. If you can’t seem to update apps wirelessly, consider using iTunes instead. It’s very straightforward. Just follow these steps:
- Make sure that iTunes in your computer is up-to-date.
- Open iTunes in your computer.
- Connect your iPhone to your computer via cable.
- In iTunes, select Apps from the drop-down menu at the top left.
- Click Updates just beneath the top window.
- Single-click the icon of the app you want to update.
- In the section that opens, click the Update button.
- When the app has updated, sync your iPhone like normal and install the updated app.
Factory reset your iPhone. If all the steps above won’t help at all, wipe the entire phone. Be sure to create a backup via iTunes or iCloud or both before proceeding with the steps below:
- Open Settings app.
- Tap General.
- Tap Reset.
- Tap Erase All Content and Settings.
- If prompted, enter your passcode.
- Tap Erase iPhone.
Problem 3: iPhone 7 plus slow in opening apps
Hey! I’ve been owning an iPhone 7 plus, 32GB black for 3 months and i have alle questions about apps entering. I saw a lot of devices like this in stores entering very fast in each application. Mine, sometimes needs near one second to enter in Facebook or messenger for example. So, are devices in Apple Store for testing better optimized?? — Caciu
Solution: Hi Caciu. Is your iPhone 7 slow in loading ALL apps, or only those that uses internet to work? If you have a problem with any app, then you may have a serious issue. In this case, try to see if you can fix the problem by deleting all apps and settings (Erase All Content and Settings procedure as detailed above). Once you’ve factory reset the device and the issue continues, you must contact Apple so they can take a look at it.
However, if the problem only occurs when you’re trying to open apps that require internet connection such as Facebook, then it’s probably because the connection in your phone is slow. You should be able to fix the problem by making sure that you have fast enough connection. Talk to your carrier how to do that. If you don’t use mobile data but rely on wifi most of the time, make sure that your internet at home is fast. If you want to know what your home wifi speed should be, contact your internet service provider.
Problem 4: iPhone 7 overheats and download apps by itself
Dear Friends, I happen to have a iPhone 7 plus made in Korea and I’ve some issues with it. I hope you can help me with it. My iPhone has loads of issues 1: If you turn switch on the internet it heats up & downloads unwanted apps. I tried everything but it keeps coming back. Solution: Hi Jayant. Is your phone jailbroken? The easiest to know that is by going over your list of apps and checking if you can find Cydia app. If it’s there, then your device is jailbroken and may be hosting some form of malware. We suggest that you do a full restore by putting it in DFU mode first. This will not only restore the phone but will also remove the jailbreak software.
Keep in mind that malware often spread by installing apps so once you’ve done a full wipe or restore, be sure to install only trusted or official apps.
