Problem: Hi, I have an iPhone 7 that I just purchased this week. I have a hidden network at my house so I connected to it manually but the connection is sketchy. It stays and then drops, and a few times it says “no internet connection”. I’ve tried various things. I’ve restarted my phone more than once, I reset my wifi network settings, and I forgot the network and tried to go back in. I have the only Apple device in my house, and the wifi works with androids. It worked with my LGG3 but it refuses to work with my iPhone. I have no problem connecting to visible wifis, even if they’re password protected. Please help.
Solution: It’s good that you have already performed some of the necessary troubleshooting steps for this particular issue. Since the problem still persists then you should proceed with the following steps listed below.
- Make sure your phone is running on the latest iOS version.
- Check if the same issue occurs when you connect to other hidden Wi-Fi networks. If the problem does not occur when you connect to another hidden Wi-Fi network then there might be an issue with your home router which you need to check.
- In case the same problem occurs when you try to connect to a different Wi-Fi network then you should backup your phone data then so a factory reset. Once this is done set up your phone as a new device then check if the issue still occurs.
If the problem persists even after performing the steps listed above then you need to have your phone checked at an Apple store.
iPhone 7 Not Connecting to Wi-Fi After Reset
Problem: I recently went to the apple store because my iphone 7 had become disabled due to forgetting my password. He reset the phone and told me to go home and connect to my wifi. I got home and I cannot connect. what next
Solution: What you should do right now is to restart your phone and the Wi-Fi network. Once this is done make sure that the Wi-Fi switch of your phone is turned on. Search for your Wi-Fi network then connect to it. You will have to enter the Wi-Fi password again when you connect since your phone was reset.
iPhone 7 Connects To Wi-Fi But No Internet Access
Problem: My iPhone 7 connects to wifi but there is no internet access. It does it now and then and it’s so frustrating. It’s not my internet router because I had no problem with my iPhone 5s and all the other phones in my house have no problem connecting. I’ve tried everything, resetting networks, rebooting, restoring my phone, changing DNS. I don’t know what else to do, I know the problem must be the phone but I don’t know what else I can try before going to the Apple Store.
Solution: What you should do now is to check if the same issue occurs when your phone connects to a different Wi-Fi network. If the problem does not occur then there might be an issue with your home Wi-Fi. If the problem still occurs then this is most likely caused by a phone issue. I recommend that you bring this to the Apple Store and have it checked.
iPhone 7 Wi-Fi Switch Is Greyed Out
Problem: I can’t click the wifi button to turn on my wifi, it’s greyed out. I was wondering if there was any way you can call me to help me fix this problem, I tried resetting it already and the problem still occurs!
Solution: If after doing a factory reset the Wi-Fi switch is still greyed out then this is most likely a hardware related problem already possibly caused by a faulty Wi-Fi chip. You will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked if this is the case.
