With Pope Francis set to visit New York City this week, there was growing concern over the past few days that Apple’s #iPhone6s and 6s Plus shipments will be delayed due to most of the roads being blocked for security reasons.
Apple has now confirmed this and mentioned that some customers in New York City and Philadelphia who pre-ordered the iPhone 6s or the 6s Plus might have to wait until Saturday to get their devices.
All of Apple’s courier partners like UPS, USPS as well as FedEx are not expected to be making deliveries on Friday. But customers can probably get in touch with the courier partners and arrange for a manual pickup if there is such a facility available, although the chances are pretty slim.
Here are the affected zip codes of New York and Philadelphia:
New York: 10001, 10007, 10017, 10021, 10022, 10023, 10029.
Philadelphia: 19102, 19103, 19104, 19106, 19107, 19109, 19123, 19130, 19146, 19147.
If you’ve pre-ordered the iPhone 6s or the 6s Plus and live in the zip codes mentioned above, you will soon receive an email from Apple informing you of the delay in delivery.
