A new report talks of Apple’s intentions to release a budget device this year. The smartphone, known as the iPhone 6c, will supposedly break cover along with the iPhone 6s and the 6s Plus according to this new report. This comes two years after Apple first released the iPhone 5c.
It was assumed that lack of sales was the reasoning behind the company not releasing a new budget iPhone last year, but it seems like the company is planning to change that this year. The report goes on to say that the smartphone will pack a 4 inch display, much like the iPhone 5c, so we’re not sure how different the smartphone will be compared to the 2013 model.
Perhaps we will see a Touch ID sensor this time around, which was missing from the 5c in order to keep the production costs at bay. Apple is expected to reveal the iPhone 6c along with the iPhone 6s and the 6s Plus at a dedicated even on September 9, so we’ll wait for more details on the device until then.
