Fourth gen iPad mini to supposedly feature Split View multitasking feature from iOS 9

Apple iPad Mini 4 Split View

A lot is expected from the next gen iPad mini tablet. While Apple has been relatively negligent about its iPad mini lineup in the past, all hints point towards a change of approach this year. A new developer screenshot supposedly taken from OS X El Capitan shows how Apple could be prepping to use more advanced features on its upcoming mini tablet.

What you’re seeing above is known as Split View, a feature that is supposed to increase productivity for the users. However, its functioning will be limited to only a handful of devices with capable hardware underneath. But this revelation tells us that the iPad mini 4 could be one of those devices, which is very good news for fans of the iPad mini lineup.

It must be noted that only the iPad Air 2 currently supports Split Screen multitasking on iOS 9, so it’s natural to assume that the upcoming iPad mini will pack similar or improved hardware specs underneath. Although Apple is holding an event on the 9th of September for the release of the new iPhones, the iPad lineup is usually refreshed in October, so we might have some waiting to do before getting a clearer picture of the new iPad mini.
