As Apple prepares to announce its quarterly earnings, a new report speaks of the dominance of the iPhone 6 in the mobile industry since its introduction last year.
According to Counterpoint Research, the Apple iPhone 6 and the 6 Plus have topped the charts since September of last year. More importantly, the two flagships supposedly managed to stay in demand despite the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 edge in May.
In the month of June, the two Apple flagships dominated the sales chart according to a table compiled by Monthly Market Pulse. Apple also figured in the fifth spot with the iPhone 5s, which continues to sell handsomely despite being nearly two generations old.
While the Galaxy S6 was reported to have received a less than stellar response, the Galaxy S6 edge was priced highly and was also going through some stocks related issues, which worked in favor of Apple.
On the whole, it seems like Apple will continue to dominate the mobile market in 2015 as well. With the expected arrival of the iPhone 6s and the 6s Plus in September, Apple could further increase its hold on the mobile market.
