The Skype app on the iTunes App Store is now getting an update which introduces a couple of changes to the iPhone version of the app. The Apple Watch version is also seeing an update, with voice dictation supported for replies.
The iPhone version will see the addition of link previews when a contact sends you a link, so that you get a good idea of whether or not the link is worth opening on the browser. Previews also show up when you’re trying to send a link to your contacts.
As for the Apple Watch update, in addition to finally allowing voice replies to messages, users will also get a quick glimpse of their favorite Skype contacts directly from the wearable. Further, you will now be notified of incoming calls directly on the watch, although calling cannot be initiated yet. Users can answer the call from their wearable and you can pick up your iPhone and continue it there.
Microsoft is mindful that new features need to be added periodically and we expect more to follow over the coming weeks. Head over to the App Store on your iPhone to catch hold of this new update.
