Periscope for iPhone update now lets you filter streams based on location

Periscope iPhone Update

The live streaming sensation, Periscope has just received a new update on the iTunes App Store, which introduces the ability to filter streams depending on your location. You can also search for stream from a particular location and start watching it instantaneously. There’s a new global map, which will show you all the live streams that are taking place that instant and you can switch between them conveniently.

Another major addition is the ability to replay videos right after they’ve been broadcast, which was a strenuous task before. Further, you can now tweet about a broadcast that you’re watching to your followers, something which was limited to your friends on Periscope previously.

The update takes Periscope to version 1.1, but won’t change the UI drastically, so don’t expect any changes in that area. In order to connect to its global audience, the makers of Periscope have also added support for 29 new languages such as  Japanese, Spanish, French, Italian, German, Korean, Russian, Turkish, Portuguese, Dutch, Indonesian, Simplified Chinese, Danish, Finnish, Polish, Norwegian, Swedish, Thai, Arabic, Czech, Hebrew, Hindi, Hungarian, Malay, Romanian, Traditional Chinese, Ukrainian, Vietnamese.

You can find the update on the iTunes App Store right away.
