Problem: I recently shattered my screen, but the screen works. My boyfriend had an iPhone 6 plus he wasn’t using, so we took the phone to a 3rd party and asked him to swap the screens from the two phones. However, the new screen is unresponsive (doesn’t swipe, answer calls, etc).. I don’t understand this issue. I took my phone back to him and made him put my old cracked screen back on, and my screen is working now.. Any thoughts on why this may be?

Solution: Have you checked if the screen from your boyfriend’s phone was working properly before it was installed in your device? If this screen was originally not working then it will also not work on your phone.

Another possible reason why this issue occurs is that there may be a connection issue between the replacement screen and your phone’s motherboard. The connecting wire may be cut or not seated properly.
