Facebook asking some staff with iPhones to switch to Android

A lot of people in the #Facebook camp prefer iPhones apparently. And Facebook is seemingly not happy with that, given the need to tap into the needs of the #Android audience.

Here’s what Facebook’s Chief Product Officer, Chris Cox said – “I am mandating a switch of a whole bunch of my team over to Android, just because people, when left up to their own devices, will often prefer an iPhone.” He explained that this move is enforced “so that they can be reporting bugs and living in the same experience that most Facebook users experience today.”

The company recently launched something known as “2G Tuesdays” which is an opt-in program wherein the employees would have to resort to using 2G speeds for one hour every Tuesday. This new move however seems to be a touch on the compulsory side, which makes sense given what the company has in mind for the vast Android audience.

What do you make of this move? Is it unfair of Facebook to ask its employees to switch to iPhones? Sound off in the comments section below.
